FEES

Statement

We are confident that our fees are reasonable and represent excellent value for money. We are completely independent (e.g. we have no ties to any particular senior school) and all fees are used to provide the very best education for young children and to invest in the future.

Background

The Froebelian School has been an independent school since it was founded in 1913 and charges fees to cover the cost of providing education and care of the highest quality. The School was privately owned until 1973 when it became a trust, limited by guarantee, with charitable status. The company has the Registration Number 926012 and the Registered Charity Number is 529111.

The School Council

The School is governed by a Council, comprised largely of professional people who are usually current or former parents of pupils. They are all voluntary positions. One of their responsibilities is to review and set the fees. This is normally done annually, in March or April to provide a term's notice of the fees for the start of the school year in September. The fees are quoted and invoiced termly.

Charitable Status

As a charity, the School does not make a profit that benefits any individuals. Instead, the School expects to make a surplus and this is used to provide for reserves, reinvestment and capital projects. All teaching and ancillary staff are paid according to recommended scales and no member of the Council receives any payment. As a charity, the School complies with the accounting and financial regulations of the Charity Commission.

Nursery Vouchers

The School is a registered provider of early years education, subject to inspection by Ofsted. As such, the School will accept the government's nursery voucher funding and credit the money against the fees.

Bursaries

The School launched a Bursary Appeal in 2003 and the fundraising is ongoing.  Currently, we are able to offer support to a limited number of pupils irrespective of family income, subject to places being available.  The level of support will vary according to family income, but those with low incomes may qualify for up to 100% remission of the normal fees.
